Mankind has always been aspirant of understanding the nature, his own place in the universe, and the purpose of living. In this quest, covering many centuries and diverse civilizations, systematized religion has shaped human life and determined the course of history, to a large extent. While some religions have been based on books, claimed by their advocates to be divinely inspired, others have relied solely on human experience. Al-Qur'an, the main source of the Islamic faith, is a book believed by Muslims, to be of completely Divine origin. Muslims also believe that it contains Divine guidance for all humankind. Since the message of the Qur'an is believed to be for all times, it should be relevant to every age. Does the Qur'an pass this test of being relevant in modern era?
"The Qur'an and Modern Science: Compatible or Incompatible" aims at doing an objective analysis of Muslim belief regarding Divine origin of the holy Qur'an and its relevance in the modern era. The writer; Dr. Zakir Naik has done this analysis with respect to modern scientific theories and discoveries and gave brief explanation as to how Qur'an and modern science are compatible to each other.
